A custom app for moving companies

Estimates often come from a phone call and a guess. The customer says it is a two-bedroom, forgets the storage unit, and does not mention the narrow stairs. On the day, a three-person crew faces a job that needed four, and the hours run well past the quote.

Scheduling is its own puzzle. End-of-month Saturdays get overbooked, one truck is due for an inspection, and the building at the destination wants an insurance certificate by Friday. After the move, a customer reports a scratched dresser, and the crew’s notes are a few words on the back of the bill of lading.

Loadout builds the inventory from a video walk-through the customer sends, estimates volume, hours and crew size, and drafts the estimate with a price range. It flags stairs, walk-ups and long carries, and reminds crews about special items like pianos. Crews and trucks are scheduled together, and routes are planned for big trucks.

On moving day, the customer gets the crew’s arrival time and a live truck location. The app writes the bill of lading, then turns hours and tips into payroll. It warns when a day is overbooked, catches building insurance certificate requests, tracks truck maintenance, spots jobs that ran long against the estimate, and flags damage claims early.

It fits local movers with two or three trucks, companies that also do long-distance and storage, and owners who still answer the estimate line themselves. Estimators, dispatchers and crew leads each see the job from their side, on a phone, tablet or office computer.
