A custom app for electricians

Electrical work runs on paperwork as much as wire: permits, inspections, license renewals, and quotes written at the kitchen table late at night. Circuit is a sample app for electricians that keeps jobs, quotes, permits and inspections together, and handles the writing while you are still up on the ladder.

Circuit is a sample with sample data. Your app is built around your own steps, fields and names.

Too many forms between panel and payment

A typical week means walking a basement with a homeowner, taking a few photos of an old panel, and promising a quote by tomorrow. Then the permit application needs filling in, the supply house has raised the price of copper, and someone has to remember that the rough-in inspection is Thursday morning.

Licensing adds its own clock. Every electrician on your crew has a license number, an expiration date and continuing-education hours due. Miss one and a journeyman cannot work. Meanwhile, a service call quoted at four hours is heading into its seventh, and nobody notices until the invoice goes out short.

From walk-through photos to a paid invoice

Circuit drafts the quote from your walk-through photos and notes, builds the materials list from the plan, and fills in the permit application. It runs load calculations for a panel or new circuits and flags any that look overloaded. Voice notes from the truck become job notes, and when you mark a job done, the invoice is ready for you to check.

On the warning side, it reminds you of each inspection and what to have ready, tracks every license and CE deadline, and speaks up when a job runs past the quoted hours. It catches supplier price jumps and invoices unpaid after 30 days, and it notes code changes that touch jobs still open.

For shops with one van or a dozen

It fits a master electrician working alone, a contractor with a few journeymen and apprentices, and residential or light commercial shops that mix service calls with bigger installs. The owner schedules crews by skill and license, and the techs see only what they need on their phones.

Questions

Electricians: common questions

Can the app tell which customers might want an EV charger or a panel upgrade?

It looks at what you already know, such as the age of the panel, the service size and past work, and suggests customers worth contacting. It drafts the message and you decide who gets it. The same idea works for yearly generator maintenance reminders.

Do the load calculations replace my own judgment?

No. They are a fast first pass so you are not doing arithmetic in a crawl space. You check every number, the same way you check every quote and invoice the app drafts. I build these apps with Claude, Anthropic’s AI, and I check every screen myself before you see it.

We track permits in spreadsheets today. Can those move over?

Yes. On the free call, show me the spreadsheets and the forms you fill in now. The first working version, which you can try within days, is built around your own columns and steps, and I keep adding fields and reports as you find what you need.

Clients

What clients say

“Being one day after our 3rd party audit of our GMP and food safety procedures, and our improved maintenance system was a positive and important part of that audit, I would like to thank Ciscom for the software they made for us. It helped us organize the maintenance department and eased the scheduling of preventive maintenance as well as keeping record of spare parts in inventory.”

“Our tCaretraK system, custom created by Ciscom, is a dream come true! … Since implementation, our records have become streamlined, to the point of redefining our entire approach to being a paperless office. …”
