A custom app for building contractors

You run three jobs, answer a dozen calls, and still owe a client the change order you priced in the driveway. SiteBook is a sample of the app I build for general contractors and remodelers: one place for the daily log, job costs, photos by room and every signed change.

Where a remodel quietly loses money

Most trouble on a build starts small. A homeowner asks for a wider doorway, you agree on site, and nobody writes it down. Three weeks later the extra framing and the electrician’s second trip show up in your costs but not on the invoice. Receipts ride around in the truck console until the ink fades.

Then there is the paperwork you cannot skip. A sub’s insurance certificate expired last month. The inspector wants photos of the insulation before drywall goes up, and the drywall crew is already unloading. The client calls on Friday asking when the kitchen will be done, and the honest answer lives in four different notebooks.

One job file from bid to final walk

With an app like SiteBook, you talk into your phone at the end of the day and it writes the daily log. Snap a lumber yard receipt and the cost lands on the right job. Describe a change in one sentence and it drafts the change order, which the client signs on their phone before the work starts.

It also watches the things you never have time to check. It warns when a job runs over budget or behind schedule, flags missing photos before an inspection, and reminds you when a sub’s license or insurance is about to lapse. Each week the client gets an update with photos, so the calls slow down.

Built for crews of two to forty

It suits remodelers who run two or three kitchens at a time, general contractors juggling subs across several sites, and small builders who keep the books themselves at night. The office manager, the site lead and the owner all see the same job, on a phone in the truck or a computer at the desk.

Questions

Building contractors: common questions

Can it keep track of what the client picked for each room?

Yes. Tile, fixtures, paint colors and cabinet hardware can all live with the job, so the crew is not guessing and nobody argues later about what was chosen. Your app gets the fields you actually use, whether you work room by room or trade by trade.

Will my subs need to use the app?

Only if you want them to. Many contractors give subs a simple site check-in so timesheets fill themselves in, and keep everything else for the office. On the free call we look at how your crews work now and decide what each person should see.

What does an app like this cost a contractor?

Every app gets a written quote after the free call, because a two-person remodeler needs less than a builder with ten subs. Small apps start from $999, medium from $2,999 and big ones from $6,999. Care plans for ongoing help start from $99 a month.

Clients

What clients say

“Being one day after our 3rd party audit of our GMP and food safety procedures, and our improved maintenance system was a positive and important part of that audit, I would like to thank Ciscom for the software they made for us. It helped us organize the maintenance department and eased the scheduling of preventive maintenance as well as keeping record of spare parts in inventory.”

Samuel WislickiOperations Manager, Beigels Bakery

“Our tCaretraK system, custom created by Ciscom, is a dream come true! … Since implementation, our records have become streamlined, to the point of redefining our entire approach to being a paperless office. …”
